偃旗息鼓　

◎ 偃旗息鼓 yǎnqí-xīgǔ

[call off the army maneuvers;cease(stop) all military activities and lie low;lower the flags and silence the drums] 放倒軍旗,停止擊鼓。指秘密行軍,不暴露目標(biāo)。也指停止戰(zhàn)斗。比喻停止做某事

突厥受詔,則諸蕃君長(zhǎng)必相率而來(lái)。雖偃旗息鼓,高枕有余矣。——《舊唐書·裴光庭傳》
